As a family business based in Alabama in the heart of the southeast, college sports and the SEC are a way of life for us and our communities. Spirit Pearl is owned by two brothers who have more than 50 years fine-jewelry industry experience between them. Captivated by the magnificence of freshwater pearls, the brothers made these rare gems their sole focus for the past decade.

Being from the South, college sports and school pride are major parts of Spirit Pearl’s identity and regional culture. It was this “team spirit” that gave rise to Spirit Pearl. While visiting a 2009 trade show in Hong Kong, one of the brothers spotted a strand of lustrous orange and white pearls. The striking color combination made him immediately think of his wife, a major University of Tennessee fan, and her beloved Vols. He bought them for her as a gift and they were a huge hit. As his wife began elegantly showing her team loyalty sporting her unique high-class pearls, family, friends and other fans began enthusiastically inquiring about getting their own. The requests poured in for various color combinations and Spirit Pearl was born!
